African Elemental Divination

The power to gain insight into a question or situation by way of an occultic, standardized process or ritual using the elements.  The diviner can utilize   methods of reading the future, the present and the past and/or provide help to a problem at hand by using using elements as a focus for the divinatory session.  The belief in elemental beings and their relationship to the five elementsis fundemental to African Elemental Divination. In order to be a diviner, you MUST become one with an elemental being.

African Elemental Divination embraces the Five Elements: Fire, Water, Nature, Mineral. According to Dagara belief, each person is born into one of the following types:

Fire (ancestors, heart and meaning, passion)
Water (healing, reconciliation, flow)
Earth (center, homecoming, nurturing)
Mineral (re-dreaming, life purpose, outer expression)
Nature (change, transformation and authenticity)

AFRICAN ELEMENTAL DIVINATION is the use of your unique birth date and Elemental content to form the basis of the reading and discovery of your special gift. The purpose of AFRICAN ELEMENTAL DIVINATION is to help you bring your soul medicine into this world. It is a form of cowrie shell divination that hails from the Dagara culture in Burkina Faso, West Africa. This method of divination is rooted in a history that is thousands of years old.

Readings can offer insights into many aspects of one’s life including original purpose, personal “medicine,” relationships, work, health, and money. This form of indigenous ritual use shells, stones, bones, and other objects on a cloth that serve as messengers of Spirit. These objects represent various aspects of the 4 elements. Shells, bones, stones and other natural objects are moved in a certain manner revealing information that is valuable in determining what action needs to be taken. Because this is an interactive process between the diviner and the Ancestors, each session is unique.

The African Elemental Divination incorporates 133 cowrie shells and a variety of other items that come from the Dagara tribe in West Africa
During the divination session, there is a medicine wheel and cowry shells, coins, crystals, and other objects that all carry meaning.  These are cast on the African Wheel cloth with the colors the Dagara normally associate with each type of element. The divination is done by reading the configuration of items on the cloth, intuition and further discussion.

When the divination session is done, generally after 1 to 2 hours, "prescriptions" are made to the person.  These prescriptions are instructions for rituals and offerings that the person must make.
